Some weddings hit a little differently. This time, Lauren wasn't behind the camera with us. She was in front of it.
Lauren has photographed so many love stories alongside us at Tkshotz, so getting to document her wedding to Pres on August 16, 2026 was something I'll never forget. Their day took them from a ceremony at King's Gate Church in Cochrane to a reception at Studios at Vic Park in Calgary. There were a lot of emotions behind the cameras that day. From teammate, to friend, to bride.
Engagement Session in the Mountains
Before the big day, we met Lauren and Pres in the mountains for their engagement session: a valley meadow, a wildflower bouquet and the two of them, hand in hand.
Getting Ready
The morning started with the little things: the invitation, her vows book, the rings and the pearl hair pins, all laid out before anyone was dressed. Lauren knows better than anyone how much those details matter in the final gallery.
Makeup by Mylynn kept her looking soft and glowing, with her hair by @rachelcrewshair falling in loose waves.
Then came the Maggie Sottero gown, a final adjustment from her bridesmaid by the fireplace, and the shoes, buckled on in the window light.
First Touch and Prayer
Before the ceremony, Lauren and Pres shared a first touch around the garage pillar, without seeing each other. Then, hands held, they prayed together.
Ceremony at King's Gate Church
Lauren walked down the aisle on her dad's arm at King's Gate Church in Cochrane, with harp music from Tiffany Hansen and guitar from @yyc__ash filling the room.
Under the cross and a floral arch by Callia Flowers, they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, then made their way back up the aisle as newlyweds.
Portraits by the River and in the Trees
First, the whole crew, gathered under a big old tree.
Then it was just the two of them, out on the river rocks with the evergreens behind and her blue and peach bouquet in hand.
As the light dropped, we followed them into the trees: a kiss with the sun flaring through the branches, a twirl at the end of a tunnel of leaves, and one last kiss under her veil. Truly, madly, deeply.
Reception at Studios at Vic Park
The celebration moved to Studios at Vic Park in Calgary, where guests were greeted by a welcome sign and a table of family wedding photos. Dinner came from Food Works Craft Catering, with cake and cupcakes by Pretty Sweet and a Pure Portrait photo booth for the guests. Bella Kwiczak kept the whole day running as day-of coordinator, and Madly In Love Club captured it all on film.
From Teammate, to Friend, to Bride
Lauren has stood beside us at so many Calgary weddings, quietly catching the moments couples treasure most. Getting to turn the camera around and tell her story, from the church in Cochrane to the river and the trees to Studios at Vic Park, was an absolute honour. Lauren and Pres, thank you for trusting us with it.
